Armored Core 6 gameplay

Armored Core VI puts a heavy emphasis on mech-based vehicle combat, immersing players in the role of experienced pilots commanding powerful mechs known as Armored Cores. The game’s standout feature is the extensive customization options for these mechs, giving players a wide range of components and parts to enhance and perfect their mech warriors, allowing them to tailor their abilities to their preferred playstyle.

One of the defining aspects of the gameplay is the amount of freedom players have when arming their mechs. With available slots on each arm and two available slots on the back of the mech, players can equip a variety of weapons, giving them strategic flexibility in intense combat scenarios.

The game incorporates familiar concepts from its predecessors, introducing a “combat capability evaluation program” as an arena mode. Here, players can test their skills and compete with other players. Successfully completing missions in this mode rewards the player with in-game currency called points. The number of credits earned is affected by goals achieved during the assignment, and uncompleted goals may be deducted.

Unlike earlier entries in the series, Armored Core VI eliminates the debt system, which punished players by deducting money for failed missions. This time around, players can attempt missions as many times as they wish without fear of losing money, providing a more forgiving and immersive gaming experience.

Armored Core 6 plot

The intricate plot of “Armored Core 6” revolves around the future of mankind reaching interstellar civilization. On the frontier planet Rubicon 3, the discovery of coral, a substance with extraordinary energy and data transmission capabilities, promises technological wonders, but instead sparks the devastating Ibis Fire.

The incident left Rubicon 3 in ruins and contaminated, seemingly clearing away all coral. Fifty years later, however, the coral reappears, sparking a brutal competition between corporations, profit-seeking mercenaries, and those seeking to control this powerful resource. Players take on the role of “Crow”, an augmented human who serves the mysterious Walter, piloting the Armored Core and performing mercenary duties.

As Raven, players will navigate the treacherous landscape of Rubicon 3, forming alliances, uncovering secrets, and facing moral choices. The plot provides branching narratives based on the player’s decisions, leading to different outcomes. Will the Crows protect the corals and seek a harmonious future, or will they side with those who aim to destroy them, potentially risking a repeat of the catastrophic Ibis Fire? The game’s narrative complexity and player-driven choices make Armored Core 6 a gripping journey through a future world and dealing with the consequences of its own technological ambitions.
